In short

  • No data collected. Rawlit has no accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking, and no servers run by us.
  • Your photos stay on your device. Decoding, editing and masks all run on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Only the photos you pick. Rawlit sees the photos you choose, never your whole library.
  • Only your settings are kept. Rawlit deletes its copy of a photo when you open another or restart the app, unless iOS reopens the photo you were editing.

Rawlit does not collect, store, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers operated by us. Rawlit develops your RAW photos on your device, and they leave it only when you save or share them yourself.

Who we are

Rawlit is an independent RAW photo editor for iPhone and iPad. “We” and “us” in this policy mean its developer. Rawlit is not affiliated with or endorsed by any camera maker.

Photos you open

You can open a photo from the system photo picker, from the Files app, or by sharing it to Rawlit from another app. The photo picker gives Rawlit only the items you select. Rawlit never asks for access to your whole photo library.

If the original of a photo you pick is stored in iCloud, iOS downloads it from iCloud Photos for Rawlit. That download is handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.

To keep a photo readable while you edit it, Rawlit copies the file into a private folder inside the app. Only the photo you are editing is kept there. The copy is deleted when you open another photo and each time Rawlit starts, unless iOS is reopening the photo you were working on (see What Rawlit keeps).

Editing and masks

Decoding the RAW file and every adjustment happen on your device, with Apple’s frameworks.

Masks for the subject, people, or an object you select are made on your device with Apple’s Vision framework. This finds the outline of what is in the photo; it does not identify who anyone is, and the masks are discarded with the photo. On iOS 27, the first time you select an object, iOS may download Apple’s model for it. iOS makes that download itself, and your photo is not part of it.

Saving and sharing

To save an export to your photo library, Rawlit asks for add-only access. With it, Rawlit can add photos to your library but cannot see or read anything already in it. You can also share an export with the iOS share sheet, where you choose where it goes. Exports are written to a temporary folder first, which is cleared at the next export, and iOS removes temporary files on its own.

Exported photos keep the metadata of the original file, such as the camera, the lens, the exposure settings, the date, and the location where the photo was taken if your camera recorded it. Keep this in mind before you share an export with others.

What Rawlit keeps

Between launches Rawlit keeps only display preferences, such as which panels are collapsed and where the histogram sits, and which tips you have already seen.

If iOS closes Rawlit in the background, iOS may hand back the photo and adjustments you were working on when you return, so you can continue. Closing Rawlit yourself from the app switcher discards them. Edits are not saved anywhere else.

No network, no tracking

Rawlit makes no network connections of its own. It contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or other third-party code, and it does not track you across apps or websites.

Diagnostics

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregated usage statistics under Apple’s own privacy terms. These never include your photos.

Children

Rawlit is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because Rawlit holds no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete. Deleting Rawlit from your device removes everything it stored.
